SOME TRUTH NOW THAT THE ELECTION IS OVER
ON JEGEDE: Jegede is such a fine gentleman. He will make a good leader someday and he has a future in Ondo politics, if only he will rescue himself from the hold of that dribbler with expired booth, Mimiko!
ON OKE: He is a politician par excellence. He is brave but careless. He co-habited as live-in lovers with his first wife while both were schooling in Ife and that was where they, as students, gave birth to their first child and daughter who is now a doctor. But Oke went to NDDC and he returned with Nkem, his Ibo wife, tall and beautiful...
From the version the insider historian made us know, the day Oke arrived from NDDC after the expiration of his tenure, he ordered for a brand new prado jeep for the first wife and on arrival, the woman reportedly said 'Semia (name she solely called Oke), if you have not brought me a new wife as a gift and you did not bring me anything from NDDC, I would have celebrated with you today my husband on the successful completion of your tenure. But now, you came back with two gifts for me, a new car and a new wife. I reject both." the woman tearfully submitted.
Oke had not become the governor, he had made Nkem the visible FIRST LADY! His supporters called her HER EXCELLENCY. They knew the truth but chose to look away, as if the wife did not exist there.
People pretended that woman was a happy woman... too bad!
As a boy, you need thex prayers of one woman to suucceed, your mother; but as a man, you need the intetcession of two happy women to make it to the top and not to fall, your mother and your wife.
Some mistakes men make...
Some mistakes men must avoid...
Attributes like these unmake men in history and have marred a number of leaders.
ON THE IKALE PEOPLE: I respect this tribe in Yoruba. They keep faith with a cause. Once they pledge their support, they don't look back. They don't back out. They don't worship money. They hate serving two gods. They are not tribalistic. They are not nepotistic. Agagu an Ikale man constructed more roads and bridges in Ilaje during his tenure. He was bringing a university and he took it to the boundary between Ikale and Ilaje.
Even if he did not win, the Ikales pledged their support for Oke till the end! What a wonderful people!
