Jonathan, Awujale In Secret Meeting, As Journalists Are Barred

President Goodluck Jonathan has stormed the palace of the Awujale and ruler of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiry Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, as he continues to canvass for votes ahead of the March 28 elections.
President Jonathan who was earlier reported to make a visit to the Oba’s palace, stormed the palace of the Awujale today, March 12, 2015.
According to the reports gathered, President Jonathan visited the Oba to solicit for the royal father’s support ahead of the presidential election.
PM News reports that, Jonathan arrived at the palace exactly 11:15 a.m.
The media outfit also reported that, the President’s chopper landed at the mainbowl of the Otunba Dipo Dina International stadium where a convoy of vehicles took him straight to the Oba’s palace.

However, what became very surprising was the denial of journalists, access to cover the President’s visit.


It was gathered that journalists were barred from entering the palace as strict looking and gun wielding security personnel at the main gate refused them entrance.
Also at the Oba’s palace was the former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who was part of the entourage that arrived at the palace.
It was reported that some of the journalists who were later granted access by the security men at the gate, had to disguise as PDP chieftain using their PDP membership cards.
According to the journalists, they were not allowed into the main hall where the meeting was holding.
Party supporters who also came to welcome the President were disappointed as all of them were not allowed to gain entrance to the palace or even see the number one citizen.
