The Ekiti state government has issued a warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) political appointees who served under the Dr. Kayode Fayemi administration.
The government, in a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ayo Fayose, Mr. Idowu Adelusi said the Fayemi appointees “should either pay the N109.4 million or return the vehicles without delay to avert using the police to recover the vehicles from them.”
According to Sahara Reporters, the affected political office holders are the former Deputy Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu, former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Owolabi, former Commissioner for Works, Mr Sola Adebayo, Fayemi’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode, former Commissioner for Education and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti CentraI, former Commissioner for Information, Tayo Ekundayo, former Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Kolawole, among others.
The government revealed that all entreaties to the APC chieftains to pay the N109. 4 million has remained abortive as letters written to them was never replied.
It is no secret that the Fayose administration has been having a running battle with the opposition party in the state since the inception of the barely one-year old government.
Meanwhile, the Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso recently berated Fayose, over what he called the latter’s unguarded utterances.
