The senatorial campaign vehicle of Benue state governor, Gabriel Suswam was attacked by unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
According to Leadership report, two officials of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) were shot dead in Kwande local government area of Benue State.
The two men who were killed were identified as Agbatse and Degar Orkwar.
Report has it that they were killed near Akerior community in Ushongo LGA of the state.
It was gathered from eye witnesses that the PDP members, who were returning from Katsina-Ala and heading to Adikpo town, were in a campaign vehicle branded with pictures of Suswam for Senate, when the suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the vehicle.
One of the passengers identified as Bigila Aondowase survived the attack and is receiving medical treatment in a private hospital.
Fulani herdsmen have been wrecking havoc in Benue communities. They keep trooping into the area with sophisticated weapons and killing innocent people.
