Nigerians are at the moment undergoing the accreditation exercise at various polling units all over the nation, as they await the commencement of actual voting in order to make their choice in the presidential contest.
Analysts have continued to analyse and indeed project the possible results from the elections using the strengths and weaknesses of the two major candidates, incumbent, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as a yardstick.
In an election that is most likely not going to spring any surprises, given the voting pattern of Nigerians and coupled with the fact that both contestants are from different religious persuasion and tribe.
Nigerians have in many cases voted along religious and tribal lines rather than performance based or manifesto-inspired choices. With the just concluded campaigns, this election will no be any different unfortunately. But there seem to be a new twist.
In an analysis report published on Post Nigeria, it is estimated that the president might make visible political in-roads into the strong-holds of Buhari.
