Adamawa Voted For Buhari, Check Out Results

The incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan is failing to his key opponent General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in Adamawa state.

The results of 14 of 21 local governments so far released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that opposition is leading.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) won in nine local governments though Peoples Democratic Party won in five.

The local governments, whose results have so far been released, comprise Madagali, Lamurde, Michika, Maiha, Mayo Belwa, Yola South and Yola North.

Others are Mubi North, Shelleng, Toungo, Guyuk, Hong, Girei and Song  Local Governments.

In Madagali, the PDP recorded 4,997 votes while APC scored 3,331.

In Lamurde, APC counted 7,322 votes while PDP recorded 17, 919. Also in Michika local government, the PDP had 6,762, while the APC received 3,527.

In Maiha the opposition scored 15,432 as against the 2,603 votes recorded by the PDP. In Hong Local Government, the home town of ex-minister of Health Aliyu Idi Hong, the APC got the highest votes of 17, 365, while the ruling party received 16, 662.

In Mayo Belwa, the local government of impeached governor Murtala Nyako, the APC scored 24,483 votes followed by the PDP which polled 17, 789.

In Yola South Local Government, the APC got 39,019, overcoming the PDP which scored 10,988 votes.

The story is also the same in Yola North where both former PDP national chairman Bamanga Tukur and Mr. Jonathan’s linkman, Hassan Adamu (Wakilin Adamawa), cast their votes.

The APC beaten the PDP here with 47, 139 against PDP’s 13, 790 votes.

In Toungo LG, the APC had the highest votes of 6,891, overcoming the ruling party, which scored 4,239 votes. In Mubi North, the APC also recorded the highest votes of 20,641 votes as against 12,964 votes gathered by the PDP.

In Shelleng, the opposition got 14,656 while the PDP scored 9,053. In Guyuk, the APC scored 9,575 while the PDP got 19,808.

The PDP also won in Song local government with 18,495 while the APC polled 17, 354.

The state’s returning officer, Okogbaa Geoffrey, said the electoral commission would guarantee transparency by stabbing to the provisions of the electoral act in its conducts.

He praised the shareholders for exhibiting a sense of sportsmanship.

However, it has already been obtained that APC also won in Kano, Jigawa and Ondo states, and Jonathan – in Ekiti and Enugu state.

The counting in other states is currently being in process.

The INEC election commission said the first results collated from 120,000 polling stations nationwide should be available on Sunday evening although this failed to materialize.

Presidential Election Results From Kaduna State

The Presidential result for 17 local government areas ‎released in Kaduna state so far shows that General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress is progressively leading polling 836,728 votes as against President Goodluck Jonathan who polled 267,169 votes.

In Sanga LGA APC polled 12,817 while PDP polled 22,838 votes. In Soba LGA, APC polled 61,656 while PDP polled 1,998. In Jaba LGA APC polled 5342 votes while PDP polled 18,314 votes. In Kaura LGA APC polled 7,101 votes while PDP polled27,502 votes. In Sabon Garin LGA APC polled 71,022 votes PDP polled 10,845. In Kajuru LGA, APC polled 11,592 while PDP polled 29,292. In Kudan LGA, APC polled ‎38,177 while PDP polled 2,167. In Kubau LGA. ACP polled 63,875 while PDP polled 6,377.

Makarfi LGA APC polled 44,241 votes, PDP polled 3500‎ votes. In Kaduna North LGA APC polled 119,622 votes while PDP polled 16,551 votes. In Kaduna South LGA APC polled 132,514 while PDP polled 31,820. In Zangon Kataf LGA APC polled 11,034 while PDP polled 56,799. In Igabi LGA‎ APC polled 97,841, PDP 7,410. In Ikara LGA APC polled. 49,146, PDP polled 7,170. In Kagarko LGA APC polled 16,399 while PDP polled 17,491 votes. In Birnin Gwari LGA, APC polled 43,926, PDP polled 2,539 votes. In Giwa LGA, APC polled 50,323 while PDP polled 4,556 votes.

Results from the remaining 5 LGAs were being awaited as at the time of filing this result according to the state Presidential collation officer Professor Jaafar M Kaura.

Buhari Polls 1.3m Votes In Katsina - Leadership

The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammad Buhari has polled one million, three hundred and forty five thousand, four hundred and forty one (1,345,441) votes to sweep the presidential polls in Katsina state.

Buhari won overwhelmingly in all the 34 council areas of the state to defeat PDP’s President Jonathan who got 98,937 votes.

This was contained in copy of the summary of results signed by Chief Returning Officer for the Katsina state presidential election, Prof Jibrila Dahiru Amin and made available to newsmen.

In other national assembly results made available, the APC clinched all the three senate seats and fifteen house of representatives seats.

The former executive secretary of Petroleum Technology Development Fund and PDP candidate for Katsina Central Federal Constituency, Muntaqa Rabe Darma failed in his bid to clinch the seat.

Darma polled a paltry 12, 170 votes and was defeated by the incumbent, Sheikh Umar who got 73,327 votes.

Other results of the national assembly election so far declared shows that the APC was set to capture all the fifteen House of Katsina for House of Reps.

The Funtua/Dandume consituency was won by Muntari Dandutse of APC who polled 80991 as opposed to Abdulaziz Tijjani of PDP who got 9263.

For Malumfashi/Kafur constituency APC’s Babangida Ibrahim Mahuta got 103422 votes while Abdulaziz Dan Yari of PDP got 26263.

Bakori/Danja has Amiru Tukur of APC who polled 70,493 votes while Ibrahim Murtala of APC defeated his closest opponent, Dr Garba Shehu Matazu of PDP to win the Musawa/Matazu ticket.

Chiranci/Rimi/Batagarawa has Kabir Shuaibu of APC whp scored 89188 votes while state the Dutsinma/Kurfi was won Danlami Kurfi of APC with 61544 votes.

Yuguda Plots Emergency Rule, Polls Cancellation – APC

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organization (APCPCO) has alerted that Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state is plotting a preposterous act to instigate violence as a result of the outcome of elections observed in the state.

According to the APC, Governor Yuguda is plotting an emergency rule and vote cancellation in the state.

Daily Trust reports that, the opposition campaign raised an alarm of Yuguda plotting to foment trouble to cause the cancellation of Saturday’s election and provoke emergency rule in the state.

Addressing newsmen, the spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress campaign, Malam Garba Shehu made this known in a statement issued in Daura, Katsina State yesterday.

Garba said that the intelligence report at its disposal indicated that the Bauchi State governor was in the process of manufacturing crises across the state so as to give an impression that elections across the state was inconclusive and therefore call for an outright cancellation of all the elections held on Saturday in the state.

“We have it on good authority that Governor Yuguda is planning to engineer violence across Bauchi State in order for him to provoke a state of emergency so that elections across the state which put the APC in strong lead in the state would be seen to have been marred by violence,” he said.

“We make bold to state that this plot by the Bauchi State governor to write off the electoral wishes of the people is anti-democratic, pernicious, subversive and absolutely unacceptable,” Shehu said.

“In the light of this development we call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to be railroaded by Governor Yuguda and all other anti-democratic forces into taken actions that may jeopardise the tranquility we have so far enjoyed in the course of this election. “We, however, call on the teeming supporters of the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari in Bauchi State and across the country to be abreast of this development and never fall for the demonic plot to write off their franchise as clearly expressed in the Saturday, March 28 Presidential and National Assembly Election. We urge them to be resolute, vigilant, peaceful and law abiding,” the statement said.

APC Presented Thousands Of Discarded Ballots In Akwa Ibom

At a press-conference Umana showed thousands of ballot papers that electors actually cast for his party in Ibesikpo local government area.

He accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of making the ballots inaccessible and throwing them away in a conspiracy with officials of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The discarded ballots, which were just for the Ibesikpo local government area alone, offered a sign of the depth of electoral misconduct that characterized the polls in Bayelsa state on Saturday.

It should be noted that Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers state governor, said the results from Rivers must be cancelled as the PDP supposedly rigged the election by withholding result sheets.

Among other issues which marred the election process were card reader performance, late opening of polling units and security at polling centres.

Buhari Wins Presidential Election In Oyo State

Here is information provided about another Nigerian state: Muhammadu Buhari has won the presidential election in Oyo state.

According to Premium Times, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate polled 528,620 votes, while Goodluck Jonathan, running on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, received 303,376 votes.

The total valid votes was 881,352 while the number of rejected votes was 47,254. The total number of votes cast was 928,606 while the total number of accredited voters was 1,073,849.

The results were released at the INEC state headquarters in Ibadan in the morning of March 30, Monday.

Meanwhile it has already been announced that Buhari also won in Kano, Jigawa and Ondo states, and Jonathan in Ekiti state.

Islamic Group Warns INEC Against Repetition Of June 12

In a reaction to the alleged delay in the announcement of Saturday’s, March 28, Presidential and House of Assembly elections across the country, an Islamic group has issued an urgent warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) spokesman, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, who spoke with National Mirror correspondent on Sunday commended Nigerians for showing high-level patriotism by coming out en masse to cast their votes.

He reportedly warned the INEC to avoid a repeat of the June 12 uproar, and urged politicians to relentlessly continue to calm their supporters in order to avoid violence before and after the announcement of the results.

The religious body also tasked the electoral commission to treat the results with dispatch.

“INEC is advised to avoid unnecessary delay because this is capable of generating tension. We call on the Federal Government and the security agencies to fully respect INEC’s independence. Breathing down INEC’s neck or arm-twisting it at this crucial period should not be contemplated,” Akintola said.

MURIC called the Federal Government’s attention to the June 12, 1993 debacle, and lamented that the poll that was considered the most free, fair and peaceful in Nigeria’s political history was criminally and callously annulled by the then military government.

“We all know what followed. There was widespread civil disobedience. Sanctions were imposed on Nigeria by Western powers. Life became unbearable and we are yet to fully recover from its impact 22 years later. Nigeria must not repeat the June 12 conundrum,” he said.

MURIC also urged stakeholders to allow INEC do its job without any interference or hindrance.

Meanwhile, the June 12, 1993 election is believed to be the freest and most credible election that has ever been conducted in Nigeria. The election was won by a business mogul, Chief M. K.O. Abiola, but was criminally and callously annulled by the then military government of General Ibrahim Babangida.

Abiola was jailed by Babangida for claiming to be the winner of the annulled poll, and while he was in incarceration, he died under mysterious circumstances.

However, fears associating with a repeat of the June 12 palaver might be a welcome call when one considers the recent comment of the national chairman of the Third Republic National Republican Convention (NRC), Chief Tom Ikimi.

Ikimi, who was a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but recently defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was quoted as saying: the North should wait for 2019 before vying for presidency.
